In the Blink of an Ear embraces a collective and collaborative approach around sound art, building since its beginnings a community around this medium. Since 2022, the project has been conceived as an open, collaborative sound laboratory that explores processes of perception and enables collaborative creative actions.

The third manifestation of the project In the Blink of an Ear” was held outside Bucharest for the first time. In collaboration with tranzit.ro/Iași, eight artists devoted themselves to the theme “Playing The City” this year. The city of Iași served as inspiration for us to develop ideas or scores and collect materials for individual and collaborative creations, such as acoustic phenomena, ambient sounds, or reflections of and about sound.
This time, tranzit.ro/Iași also added a theoretical aspect that encouraged reflection and attempted to examine our project in a geopolitical context.
Instead of an exhibition, we decided to hold an “Open Studio Day” in 2025. The presentation took the form of an open studio day and focused more on the creative and experimental process than on a specific end product. The aim was therefore not necessarily to exhibit or present a finished work of art, but rather to present a work in progress, a sketch, or an artistic process and to stimulate dialogue and exchange. The open studio day was planned together with the participants. In keeping with the process-oriented nature of the event, several performative actions were carried out during the day with the involvement of the audience.
