Installation performance for any number of vocal performers with glasses and recording/playback devices
Der Hauch des Parmenides (The Breath of Parmenides)
Glasses are like small rooms; each shape sounds different. By singing into them, the performers search for tones that are particularly well amplified by each glass. This tone is recorded on a simple recording and playback device (such as a dictaphone). The device's loudspeaker is attached above the glass, after which the glass, like a new, fragile being, is carefully carried into the world.
Der Hauch des Parmenides is an installation performance, a performative work that includes an installation element. In this case, the performance leads to an installation, making it particularly suitable as the end of a programme.
