Composition for accordion and vibraphone with prepared motors
Commissioned for the Metalliseos project by Sofia Ahjoniemi and Julien Mégroz
Through marginal glissandi, natural resonances of the instruments and the architectural sound characteristics of the room, the sounds of the accordion and vibraphone interweave to create soundscapes traversed by travelling melodies, wave crests and wave troughs:
valleys and hills
mountains and canyons
plains and rivers
forests and fields
dunes in deserts
waves and white caps
glaciers
jungles
coral reefs
plantations
rocks
steppes
fjords
